A formidable creature, the X-Rap Otus, combines Rapalas fish-catching X-Rap construction with a beautiful colour matched curl tail to create a seamless hybrid bait. The lure is available in three colour options of live roach, blue ghost or live perch and is the ideal choice for cold water and more challenging conditions of UK weather.
This is the big brother of the very popular X-Rap Peto, this lure has the same strong belly flash action that the Peto does, but the Otus is unique for its big curly tail that makes this lure imitate an even larger baitfish. The Otus also sinks completely horizontally whilst the tail gives off subtler actions and vibrations in the water.
The lure has a running depth of 0.5-1m and features a slow sink rate due to the wide wafting curl tail. The body rolls from side-to-side in the water as the enormous curl tail pulses behind when retrieved. When paused, the tail acts as a parachute, stabilising the lure as it slowly swims into the depths.
The soft tail is firmly secured to the body with a 6-point stainless plate. Rapala has also generously included a spare tail in case any pike try to chomp through the softer jelly-like material. The lure is fitted with two VMC coastal black treble hooks which ensure the catch will not damage itself by accidentally unhooking in the water, resulting in your losing a catch.
